Arrival in Delhi | Drive from Delhi to Nainital (300 km/approx. 08 hours)

  • Once you reach the airport or railway station in Delhi, a Yatra representative will receive you. From here, drive towards Nainital – the beautiful lake town and hill station in Uttarakhand.
  • Nainital is a hill station in the Kumaon region, which is one of the two administrative divisions in the mountainous state of Uttarakhand.
  • This town is situated in a valley and is named after the beautiful Naini Lake, which lies in its heart amidst hills and greenery.

Sightseeing in Nainital

  • Start with a visit to Hanuman Garhi, which is a famous place of worship in the town.
  • Nestled on a hilltop, this temple of Lord Hanuman was built and consecrated by the eminent saint named Neem Karoli Baba.   • Afterwards, drive towards the three lakes situated close to the town – Sattal, Naukuchiatal and Bhimtal.

  • This hill station is known for its soaring conifers, green contours, glittering streams and silent valleys.
  • It earns a considerable amount of fame for the unparalleled panorama of the Himalayas, which can be viewed from here. On the way to Kausani, pay a visit to Chaubatia and Kalika – two unmissable spots en route.
  • Chaubatia is a scenic ridge in Ranikhet that serves as a popular vantage point to behold the town's vistas.
  • It is known for its lush fruit orchards, where the finest varieties of apples, plums and other fruits are cultivated. Next comes Kalika, which has a sprawling green golf course set amidst hilly terrains. Nainital is a Himalayan resort town in the Kumaon region of India’s Uttarakhand state, at an elevation of roughly 2,000m. Formerly a British hill station, it’s set around Nainital Lake, a popular boating site with Naina Devi Hindu Temple on its north shore. There’s shopping in Bara Bazaar, and hiking trails with mountain views crisscross the surrounding area’s wooded hills.

Situated at an altitude of 2,084 metres (6,837 ft) above sea level, Nainital is set in a valley containing a pear-shaped lake, approximately two miles in circumference, and surrounded by mountains, of which the highest are Naina (2,615 m (8,579 ft)) on the north, Deopatha (2,438 m (7,999 ft)) on the west, and Ayarpatha (2,278 m (7,474 ft)) on the south. From the tops of the higher peaks, "magnificent views can be obtained of the vast plain to the south, or of the mass of tangled ridges lying north, bounded by the great snowy range which forms the central axis of the Himalayas.

Nainital is located at 29.38°N 79.45°E.[2] The slopes of the nearby mountains are most populated, with an elevation ranging from 1,940–2,100 m (6,360–6,890 ft). The highest point nearby is Naina Peak or China Peak, with an elevation of 2,619 m (8,593 ft).

Nainital has temperate summers, maximum temperature 27 °C (81 °F); minimum temperature 7 °C (45 °F), during which its population increases more than fivefold with an annual influx of tourists predominantly from the plains ofnorthern India. In winter, Nainital receives snowfall between December and February with the temperatures varying between a maximum of 15 °C (59 °F) and a minimum of −3 °C (27 °F).

Its climate is classified as subtropical highland (Cwb) according to Köppen-Geiger system.

Kausani is located 52 km north of Almora. There are very few places in the Himalayas that can compare with the beauty of Kausani - a picturesque hill station famous for its scenic splendour and its spectacular 300 km-wide panoramic view of Himalayan peaks like Trisul, Nanda Devi and Panchchuli. Kausani lies atop a ridge at an altitude of around 1890 m amidst dense pine trees overlooking Someshwar valley on one side and Garur and Baijnath Katyuri valley on the other on Almora-Bageshwar-Didihat Highway. Mahatma Gandhi called this place the 'Switzerland of India', due to similarity in landscape.[citation needed]

Anashakti Ashram is a quiet and revered place where Mahatma Gandhi spent some days and wrote his commentary of Anashkti Yog. Pant Museum is another place of importance, this being the place where the famous poet of Hindi literature, Sumitranandan Pant was born. The KMVN (Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam) resthouse in Kausani is an ideal place to stay and it provides panoramic views of the mountains.

Lakshmi Ashram is one kilometre away from the Kausani, and is a center run by Kumauni women and dedicated to social service and the upliftment of women. Gandhiji's disciple, Sarla Behn (Kaitherine Heileman) established the ashram in 1948,[1] and spent her life here doing social service and also established Anashakti Ashram. Lakshmi ashram is located in a solitary area among dense pine forest.

Tea gardens (5 km on Bageshwar Road), Baijnath group of temples (16.5 km on Bageshwar Road) and Bageshwar are the places of interest nearby.

  • Between 13 - 08 days of departure: Non – refundable deposit + 75% of the Holiday Cost
  • Prior to 7 days of the departure: 100% of the Holiday Cost

Note: If the entire tour is cancelled after ticket issuance then there would be 100% cancellation for airfare (base fare). Only taxes will be returned and for land 75% cancellation.
